Wound Therapy

PuriCore's technology mimics the human body's own production of the natural antimicrobial, hypochlorous acid (HOCl). Called "nature's antimicrobial," HOCl is non-cytotoxic and highly effective against a broad range of microorganisms including MRSA, VRE, as well as numerous other bacteria, viruses, and fungal spores.

Vashe Wound Therapy, PuriCore's most recent development, is designed as a safe and effective non-cytotoxic, non-sensitizing, proprietary wound treatment specifically aimed at managing the wound environment.

To date, Vashe Wound Therapy has been used in more than 4,000 clinical cases, including chronic and acute wounds. Current case study beta sites reference the positive impact that Vashe Wound Therapy has on maintaining the wound environment and subsequently, supporting the healing process. Additionally, these sites report that the use of Vashe Wound Therapy can result in a reduction of the pain and odor often associated with these types of wounds and that Vashe has been well tolerated throughout the course of therapy.

Published research carried out at The John Radcliffe Hospital in the UK has demonstrated that Vashe Wound Therapy is highly effective in the treatment of patients with chronic leg ulcers and showed significant benefits to the patient, including the reduction of odor and pain. (January 2006 Journal of Wound Care).

Vashe Wound Therapy is an FDA-cleared medical device used for moistening, irrigating, cleaning, and debriding acute and chronic wounds including stage I through IV pressure ulcers, stasis ulcers, diabetic ulcers, post-surgical wounds, first and second degree burns, abrasions, and minor irritations of the skin. Currently, PuriCore continues its clinical case study trials of Vashe Wound Therapy and invites interested physicians and wound care providers to participate in its clinical case study work.
