Frequently Asked Questions

What is Sterilox
Sterilox Systems produce safe, effective, broad spectrum germicide solutions on site, on demand and application specific. The active ingredient in all of our solutions is hypochlorous acid (HOCl), a protective substance found naturally in the human immune system.

How do Sterilox systems work?
PuriCore has patented technology installed in our Sterilox systems that converts simple brine solution (salt and water) into a neutral pH hypochlorous clear liquid sanitizer. It is produced on-site and on-demand at point of use from water softener salt.

Are Sterilox solutions nontoxic?
Yes, the solutions produced by all Sterilox Systems are completely safe for humans. Other products may kill the micro-organisms, but can be harmful in other ways and don't remove the biofilm.

How do Sterilox Solutions kill bacteria if they are nontoxic?
Sterilox Systems use hypochlorous acid or super-oxidized water. It is held in a redox potential to work in a hyperactive way. It attacks the micro-organism cell membrane, dissolving the biofilm and killing the organisms. In the human body, white blood cells naturally produce hypochlorous acid as a defense against disease and bacteria in the body. All Sterilox Solutions are completely safe for humans (eyes, tissue, etc.).
