PuriCore is continually focused on research and development in new markets where our antimicrobial systems can enhance disinfection and sanitization.
Agricultural R&D
Fungi are the most prolific, widespread, and damaging agents of plant disease. Each major food crop is challenged by extant fungal strains and threatened by the emergence of new aggressive strains.
Ensuring global food security from both plant disease and human mycoses (the transfer of fungal infections such as Candida, Cryptocoocus, and Aspergillus to humans) is a major challenge, especially as the demand for crop yields rise as the world’s population continues to increase.
Novel approaches to improve productivity by protecting crops from disease therefore merit much attention. PuriCore is participating in ongoing research regarding the use of its environmentally benign, broadspectrum antimicrobial hypochlorous acid solutions to address these issues in agricultural applications.
Early research indicates that this solution could represent a potentially significant breakthrough in the treatment of plant pathogens for the wider agricultural industry, and PuriCore has begun a process to identify the significance of this initial research.
